The Savage Hearts is a fiery bluegrass band founded by Annie Savage and Kevin Slick. With not-always-so-traditional bluegrass instrumentation and creative arrangements informed by a range of influences, audiences can expect a highly entertaining stage show with drill-it-to-the-wall harmonies and bombastic instrumentals. The band also specializes in stage banter that could bring a tear to a glass eye and has a passion for providing educational outreach. Full band roster includes multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Clara George.
Special guests have included Greg Blake, Becky Buller, Ellie Hakanson, Jeff Scroggins, Tracy Lynn, Jodi Harbin, Miggs Ramirez, Alex Flesher, Blake Shaw, James Horak, Warren Hanlin, Marc Janssen, Dave Hansen, and a rotating cast of twin fiddlers. Highlight performances include IBMA Showcase and Band Ramble, the Durango Meltdown, Vancouver Island Folk Festival, the International Folk Alliance Conference, and Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival in B.C., Canada.
